Summary

We implemented 'social context' indicators in ads, like "Follows and Likes," to assist users in assessing the worth of a post or advertiser when encountering content for the first time.

PROBLEM

Users frequently seek indicators to evaluate advertisers who appear in their feed and Explore grid, aiming to establish trust before making purchasing decisions. However, they lacked a straightforward means to identify which friends had liked and followed these advertisers.

Results

Key Findings:

  • We discovered that Explore users depend on information such as comments, likes, and shares to assess advertisers and establish trust.

 

By adding social proof to the Ad post in Explore Chain, we can build trust and help users easily vet the advertiser through connections in their network and improve conversion.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 

The updated experience
